SEDCOR's role is to help steer the town's economic development. It is responsible for the over-all operation of the Smallwood Interpretation and Visitor Information Centre, Joey's Lookout, the Village Green, Walsh House, Loggers Memorial Park, David
Smallwood Park, the Smallwood Trail System, and the Mi'kmaq Cemetery. Through its Heritage Committee, SEDCOR aims to preserve the area's natural and cultural environment.
To steer the town's tourism development process by identifying goals, developing reasonable and realistic plans, and securing resources to achieve these goals. Sedcor works with the Town of Gambo in the planning and promotion of the Smallwood Interpretation and Visitor Centre, Joey's Lookout, the Village Green, Walsh House, Loggers Memorial Park, David Smallwood Park, the Smallwood Trail System, Madeline’s Trail, the Mi'kmaq Cemetery, Clay Cove/Dolomon’s Point Municipal Heritage Site. SEDCOR aims to preserve the Gambo's natural and cultural environment.
To create an environment which facilitates tourism growth in Gambo.
To plan and promote a town that is attractive to tourists who want to visit and stay, and where citizens may enjoy a high quality of life.
Heritage - Plans, develops and executes the protection, preservation, and development of the Town's heritage resources, such as old buildings, natural landscapes, cultural landscapes, wetland areas, etc., as a way to help maintain and preserve the community's identity, build community pride, and promote tourism.
Tourism - Plans, develops, and administers tourism experiences; plans and executes ideas to market and promote tourism in Gambo.
Trails - Plans and develops the upgrading and maintenance of the Smallwood Trail System, including Middle Brook Trail, Madeline’s Trail, Dolomon’s Point Trail, and Dominion Point Trail.
